This is very common error, would think that fixing this isnt so much of effort
since it seems to belong to a group of variables that are already there. 

This error can be found for example from this bug 34747.

This should be fixed since bd7e83f2920ece2c388ada1e2e5fb76256b956c9 (Wine
1.7.46).

If there is still some case where you get that message, please mention the
specific game.

Of course most of the HLSL compiler is simply not there yet so you generally
need to use native d3dcompiler for games using it.
