I know No Man Sky's has some problems on Windows, but I was just curious how it is handle by Wine because it uses OpenGL and not DirectX.
But when I launched it, I got an X error of failed request. Maybe it's an interesting error, maybe not. That's why I created this bug report.
I believe this is a problem with the game in general as for some configurations it may not detect the proper graphics settings and attempt to call a resolution not supported by your monitor. http://steamcommunity.com/app/275850/discussions/7/360672304896849605/ Excerpt: If you are having problems launching due to graphics settings Your monitor settings have been incorrectly detected. Please go to your Steamapps/common/No Man's Sky/Binaries/SETTINGS/TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS from there you can either set "Fullscreen" to "false" or more appropriately, just put your proper resolution in and it should launch. You were right, I set fullscreen to false and the game is now launching. I'm currently stuck at the initialize screen. But at least this is resolved. Thank you.
Press AND hold 'E' at that screen. There is a dsound error (tested on Wine Nightly version). I guess I'm using Pulseaudio.
Look in the Audio tab in Winecfg, it will tell you.
