Can be observed right in the menu: if you hover the mouse pointer over a menu item it becomes highlighted but pressing LMB doesn't activate the chosen option. Although the game can be played by keyboard, mouse is not only used in the menus but also can be used by skipping dialogues during gameplay. The game doesn't seem to use dinput/dinput8 (when starting with winedebug=+loaddll, dinput* is not shown in the log).
