Running Debian bullseye with the package
wine/testing,testing,now 5.0-4
Heroes 3 Complete from GOG.com


(This crash does not happen with the 'h3hota HD.exe' shipped with the Horn of
the Abyss mod http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=39830)

Your wine version is very old ...
Check with latest version for Debian from WineHQ repo here :
