The problem only occurs when the game is running in 16-bit color depth. In GOTHIC.INI, under the [Video] section there is an option to change between 16 and 32-bit color depth: zVidResFullscreenBPP= Items in the inventory are shown properly for me when 'zVidResFullscreenBPP=32'. wine-3.4-142-g5946973021 OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation OpenGL renderer string: GeForce GT 730/PCIe/SSE2 OpenGL core profile version string: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 390.42 -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44821 --- Comment #5 from w1t3sc4(a)cybergal.com --- I can try in the next day with my installations, thanks.
The problem only occurs when the game is running in 16-bit color depth.
I have an ATI card (Radeon 3100) with Open Source drivers and the game is running in 32-bit color depth. Also I have update the game with latest patches (1.08k + Playerkit + System Pack. I disinstalled mods before submit the bugreport, but the problem persisted, isn't an issue of mods bad made. The bug appears only in the 3.3/3.4 version, while with the 3.1 the rendering works correctly. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44821 --- Comment #6 from Béla Gyebrószki <gyebro69(a)gmail.com> --- Does it help if you disable CSMT? (winetricks csmt=off) I think I managed to reproduced the problem on Nvidia and in 32-bit color depth, using the following setup: Gothic 1.08k + Player Kit v1.08 + Gothic 1 SystemPack v1.7. My former test was done with only the base game installed (Gothic 1.08k from GOG.com), it seems the problem arises when the community made System Pack is installed. Disabling CSMT fixes the issue for me. The problem exists with mesa 17.3.7/nouveau too. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. I'm not seeing this with upstream wine 9.0-rc4, using the Steam version (Gothic 1 Classic), Mesa 23.2.1-1, Intel UHD 630. Is this still reproducible?
It is still present for me in Wine-9.0-rc4. Just tested again with nouveau and Nvidia 535.43.22. What bothers me now: the problem is there even though CSMT is disabled. It used to work around the issue at the time when I made comment #6. The issue is not reproducible with the vanilla version of the game, you need to install Playerkit + Systempack unofficial mods. Don't know about the Steam version, but if you follow steps 2-4 in this Steam discussion, you can install the mods. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2201586820 To sum up you need to install these over the default Steam version (in that order): gothic_patch_108k.exe gothic1_playerkit-1.08k.exe Gothic1_PlayerKit-2.8.exe G1Classic-SystemPack-1.8.exe Then start the patched game with GothicStarter.exe. If all went well you should see the version number in the lower right part of the main menu: 1.08k_mod(SP 1.8). Now comes the part where you want to reproduce the problem. You need to collect some items scattered around the game world because the game starts you with an empty inventory. I can attach an existing saved game if that helps. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44821 --- Comment #12 from Zeb Figura <z.figura12@gmail.com> --- Sorry for taking so long to get around to this. Oddly the Steam version that's shipped already seems to be modded? It has the same version number. Maybe not the same mod, though? I checked again, picking up two weapons in the starting area (an arrow and an old sword) and both render fine. It might indeed need an NVidia card to reproduce. There's always a chance it's fixed though, two major versions later, if you have the ability to retest? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Now I tried the Steam version as well and it is indeed the same modded version than the vanilla GOG version plus SystemPack 1.8 installed. The following option is disabled in the Steam version (maybe deliberately). The file Systempack.ini is located in the game's System directory: Animated_Inventory=0 ; ... Rotate items in inventory, - on (1) or off (0), default is 1. When that option is enabled that's when I observe the issue with inventory objects are not displayed only after scrolling through the tabs in the inventory. Tested with Wine-11.0-rc3. However I'm not sure this is the exact same problem what this bug report was about because disabling CSMT doesn't resolve the issue. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44821 --- Comment #14 from Zeb Figura <z.figura12@gmail.com> --- Sadly I still don't see it (either on a high-powered radeonsi or an Intel laptop); the rotation feature seems to work fine for me :-/ I'd guess it's nvidia-specific, but the original reporter was on AMD / radeonsi. I suspect it's ultimately still the same bug, even if it's not CSMT-specific; probably it's just some sort of race condition that CSMT makes it easier to see. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
