[Bug 16576] New: Warlords Battlecry III crashes on exit.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16576 Summary: Warlords Battlecry III crashes on exit. Product: Wine Version: 1.1.10 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: trivial Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: nthykier(a)hotmail.com CC: nthykier(a)hotmail.com Created an attachment (id=18090) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=18090) complete wine log When I close (click quit/exit in the menus) Warlords Battlecry III, it gets an "unhandled page fault". So rather than closing it crashes. Severity does not seem overwhelming as it has not failed to flush its files due to these crash. I have made no special changes (no patches) to my installation to play this game. The AppDB suggests installing some native DLL files, which I haven't done - since single player version ran fine without. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16576 --- Comment #1 from Niels Thykier <nthykier(a)hotmail.com> 2009-01-10 11:23:38 --- The page fault is still present in 1.1.12, although the output has changed (I am not longer getting the full dump on stderr). It suggested that I used "ulimit -c unlimited" to enable coredumps, which I did and re-ran the application; though I could find no coredump in the directory after it crashed again. ~NT -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Created an attachment (id=19146) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=19146) [details] crash log from wine 1.1.13
Forgot to add that in wine 1.1.13, wine reverted to printing the page fault on stderr compared to 1.1.12 where it dumped a core. Obviously this issue is still present in 1.1.13 and I will test 1.1.14 when the deb package is released. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16576 --- Comment #5 from Niels Thykier <nthykier(a)hotmail.com> 2009-02-15 02:20:19 --- Still present in 1.1.15 - Haven't tested 1.1.14 as 1.1.15 was available via the apt repository at the same time as 1.1.14 was made available. Though I can test with 1.1.14, if there is an interest in it. I haven't uploaded the page-fault stack-trace from 1.1.15, while it is subtly (or maybe even obviously - if you are into the code) different from the 1.1.13 trace; this bug-page more or less seem like a monologue. I will gladly upload it per request though. ~NT -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16576 --- Comment #7 from Austin English <austinenglish(a)gmail.com> 2009-09-08 11:40:55 --- Is this still an issue in current (1.1.29 or newer) wine? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16576 --- Comment #8 from Niels Thykier <nthykier(a)hotmail.com> 2009-09-08 12:00:07 --- Yes, it is still present in 1.1.29. I haven't tested any version between 1.1.6 and 1.1.29, but since then it now presented a "The program has crashed and must be closed." message. I can provide a new crash log though wine spits out 3-4 seg.faults (or similar) doing boot so it might be sightly unreadable. If it is any help in locating the issue I am using Debian version from winehq[1] and I am on an i386. ~Niels [1] http://www.winehq.org/download/deblenny -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

You have to start either the campaign or a skirmish mission in order to reproduce the crash on exit. The crash doesn't occur if you exit the game directly from the main menu (without starting at least one mission). It's 'winetricks directplay' that fixes the crash for me. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
