Confirmed using wine-1.1.25 on Ubuntu 9.04 "Jaunty" x86_64.
You can still login/use the last.fm scrobbler by deleting all but the first of the strange letters. The first letter is the actual character you pressed on your keyboard.

You can still login/use the last.fm scrobbler by deleting all but the first of the strange letters. The first letter is the actual character you pressed on your keyboard.

It is just more annoying. You can just count the stars. Enter the first letter, then remove all but the first star. Then enter the second letter and remove all but the first two stars. I managed to successfully log in once. Then I had a kernel panic that corrupted Audiosurf so I had to reinstall it and now I am apparently getting invisible characters (not spaces) inserted as well which makes it pretty much impossible to log in. I noticed the invisible characters when I filled up the email address input box after I had only entered half of my email address and it wouldn't let me enter any more letters. I suspect either an issue with international keyboard (possibly Audiosurf not recognizing any default) or font types.
