Since you are talking about patching Wine-1.1.10 and getting Worms working...
are you not affected witch the slow frame rate bug on Wine-1.1.3 and newer

If not and you've got Worms working smooth on Wine-1.1.3+ can you write here
your system specs please? CPU and GPU + graphics driver?
