http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15205 --- Comment #8 from mizipzor <mizipzor(a)gmail.com> 2008-09-09 20:17:07 --- This error occurs both with vanilla wine 1.1.4 and with the patches for z-depth. Although I cloned the latest git master today which included this: http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/?a=commitdiff;h=932e95c111118b643650d6... Which made the cracks smaller (not completely gone) but at least I can get around the world now, so the game is playable. Ill see if I can get around to taking a screenshot. My own theory to the bug is that the bitmap Spore uses for heightmap/level/whatever is somehow incorrectly calculated, so the size falls one pixel short, leaving a void gap, which causes those chasms to be created throughout the world. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Both are with the 15883 patch, otherwise you wouldnt see anything at all. Although, in that screenshot it doesnt seem better in the git version, but I recall that at the earlier stages I didnt get stuck in the "rivers" as often as I used to. Also, most of the graphics seem offset, but if you can see it in the minimap, thats the exact same location. I dont know if this has something to do with the generation of the planet. I've been happily running SPORE 1.00 without the river glitch on a patched 1.1.4 wine version until I decided to update to 1.01. No registry changes have been made. Now, it does not really matter whether I'm running a patched 1.1.4 or a clean 1.1.5, the landscape has rivers all over it. Also I'm unable to use medium settings, which was previously possible. The only culprit I can blame is the update 1.00 to 1.01, since I did not update wine to 1.1.5 until the problem emerged. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Planet fissures appeared for me with version 1.0 as well as after the upgrade to 1.01. Using the daily "wine-snapshot" packages off the opensuse community wine repository.
I'm also an opensuse user, take a look at http://www.sendspace.pl/file/tJuYz3be/ where I uploaded the last patched wine version that worked for me without the river glitches on spore 1.00. It's basically the one with the recommended patch for 1.1.4 (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=15883). The package has been compiled with the extra spore patch on opensuse 11. See if you run into problems like mine if you upgrade spore to 1.01. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I had to disable fbo again because I was getting a black screen instead of the galaxy, but once i did that it seems fine with my version 1.01. I am though having an unrelated issue where water on some planets isn't rendering at all, that i only noticed after i upgraded to 1.01. I guess I'll post a seperate bug on that.
