Steps to reproduce: 1. (with the game cd mounted on /media/HYPE) Run wine /media/HYPE/setup.exe 2. Click Play 3. Whole system hangs (X appears to freeze completely), computer doesn't respond to ctrl+alt+backspace, only way out is to reboot using the magic sysrq keys. I've attached the terminal output. I don't think it's a driver issue. This game is ancient (like 1998) so its video card reqs are very low, and it runs more than fine on Windows XP. I don't think it's a driver issue.
It's either that or your kernel. Wine can't do that itself. It may be that Wine is triggering the bug, but Wine can't hang your machine.
