With newer builds of Wine it doesn't run anymore. Unfortunately I can't tell exactly at what Wine version it no more runs. Terminal throws some errors and Tagscan.exe quits. I've tried with a clean ~/.wine directory with no difference. I booted up an .iso of Lucid Lynx in Virtualbox and installed Wine+Tagscanner in it. All settings on default except that I enabled Universe/Multiverse repositories. I downgraded to 1.1.42 from the .deb made by Ubuntu. TagScanner works! If I apt-get purge and remove ~/.wine and install 1.1.43 or newer, TagScanner no more runs. So if the debs in Ubuntu repository and Ubuntu-Wine PPA are compiled the same way, I'd say something changed between .42 and .43. However, a +mmdevapi log doesn't even show mmdevapi being loaded. Disabling mmdevapi doesn't prevent the crash.
