Both - stable and rc2 prefixes - are installed in parallel side by side and set in the same way. I tried to copy log records that hopefully can relate to the cause, but I'm not sure. I just have http_proxy set for another reason. I mentioning it because EA.exe behaves a different way with proxy setting. Still not fixed in Staging-5.0rc6. As I understand rc6 is the last release candidate, so this bug is currently ignored and won't be fixed in stable version ? Or is it something wrong in bug specs ? Is it usual to release software with bugs even with initial analysis of this bug just to know what other applications are impacted ? thanks for info.
I don't know that there's anything particularly wrong with this bug report; it's just that nobody has taken the time or been able to successfully fix the bug. I'd say it's certainly usual to release software with bugs, especially since Wine uses a time-based release schedule. Can you attached a log which connects via the proxy server? Same debug channels. I'm testing on wine-5.2 (Staging) with separate WINEPREFIX=~/.wine_test. 1) I tried to reinstall wininet with ... WINEPREFIX=~/.wine_test winetricks wininet It downloads two installation files (570MB + 970MB) from download.microsoft.com, but running EA after reinstalling wininet seems to be the same (crashing) 2) regarding PROXY - please ignore it. The problem is happening on LAN too, there is no need to use VPN and PROXY setting. So on the same LAN connection EA runs fine on wine-4.3 (Stable) however crashes on wine-5.0(Stable) and 5.1, 5.2(Staging) I can send a fresh logs if needed, however I already sent it before, but no problem to send again. install mdac28, the msado15 library was introduced late in the 5.0rc series which is causing the crash.
