[Bug 37840] New: Graphical glitch in tombraider 2013
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37840 Bug ID: 37840 Summary: Graphical glitch in tombraider 2013 Product: Wine Version: 1.7.33 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: jamesmstone(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- I have noticed a graphical flickering glitch which affects the title screen text and all in-game graphics in Tombraider 2013. It appears to be a random very blocky overlay. The blocky glitch flickers and moves. I have taken 2 screenshots to demonstrate it. Interestingly, the screenshot only reproduces the graphical error if I capture the whole screen rather than the TombRaider window. title screen: http://i.imgur.com/1VgvXYl.jpg in-game: http://i.imgur.com/PubByKf.jpg I have noticed this since installing a new Asus GeForce 750 TI. I have tried several available Nvidia drivers for this card (346.22, 343.36, 340.65, 331.113 and 334.21), and all display the same symptoms. I am running Ubuntu 14.04. If I enable StrictDrawOrdering in the registry, the graphical glitches disappear. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37840 --- Comment #2 from Ryan <ryanskingsbury(a)alumni.utexas.net> --- I believe I'm also experiencing this bug, although the artefacts look slightly different and are most noticeable on cave walls and skin. The registry setting fixed the issue for me. I'm on OpenSUSE 13.2 x64, NVIDIA GTX 750Ti with 340.65 driver, and the Steam version of the game. See attached screenshots for examples of the artefacts I'm seeing. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37840 --- Comment #4 from Freso <bugs.winehq.org(a)freso.dk> --- I can verify this bug and the workaround. Is this a duplicate of bug #33455 though? Steam version of the game in dx9 mode. All settings are maxed. As described earlier, to resolve the bug you need to enable StrictDrawOrdering. Enabling StrictDrawOrdering in the registry also fixed it for me. Running a i5-2320 and GTX 970, Arch Linux, proprietary Nvidia drivers, and Wine 1.9.0. Very short video I made showing the issue before finding this bug report but uploaded anyways: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2ThtsfF89I -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37840 --- Comment #9 from debianxfce <fin4478(a)hotmail.com> --- I have played TR2013 with wine-staging 1.9.x and the game works fine except in the end of the benchmark I had black reflections on Laras face when using amd catalyst/crimson driver. Open source amdgpu driver draws the game without any errors and it is as fast. So this is a display driver problem, not a wine problem. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
