Consider UNCONFIRMED -> NEW. Following version of wine crashes: 1.0.1, 1.1.05, 1.1.10, 1.1.13, 1.1.16, 1.1.19, 1.1.22, 1.1.24, 1.1.25, 1.1.26, 1.1.27, 1.1.28, 1.1.29, 1.1.30, 1.1.31 and latest git (wine-1.1.31-397-g47ec8ab) also crashes. So it probably never worked. I have to run NHL2002 in virtual desktop (800x600) and problem here is probably: err:ddraw:IDirectDrawImpl_SetDisplayModeNoOverride Width=0, Height=0, what to do? I have to say, that i'm not even able to reach "Safedisc"-logo as was mentioned in comment #0. Nope, the game starts and you can even play since wine-1.3.9. Demo has some candidates for another bug (EA intro = "chessboard", ingame scoreboard doesn't correctly show score and same issue is when you press ESC).
