Failed log

opening wine causes display to flicker with any app...
But the main issue is that Steam.exe loads and asks for username and password,
after I enter my login info it waits a moment then crashes. if I enter the
wrong login info it responds back wrong password.

This is my first error report so please forgive any noob errors on my part.
I am running wine 1.4.1 and tried to upgrade to 1.6 or .17 but it could not be
found.

Duplicate, the Steam issue was fixed in wine 1.7.8. Please update.

If after updating you still face the flicker problem please open a new bug
report.

About packages not found, please look for information in your distribution
forum. For Ubuntu you can check http://www.winehq.org/download/ubuntu
