[Bug 48375] New: DVD and Bluray drives no longer detected automatically
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48375 Bug ID: 48375 Summary: DVD and Bluray drives no longer detected automatically Product: Wine Version: 5.0-rc3 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: grimlock4h(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- After updating to 5.0 RC3 WINE can no longer detect either a DVD burner nor a Blu Ray burner. Both drives are detected and fully working in Linux otherwise. Prior to updating the drives worked fine. Manually selecting the DVD after mounting in Linux does not work to bypass this bug. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Also, any chance you could do a regression test? That would be the quickest way to get the bug fixed i guess -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48375 --- Comment #2 from grimlock4h(a)gmail.com --- It was actually initially noticed after updating to 5.0 RC2. RC3 had came out so I upgraded to that. It was working in 4.21. Regression is NOT fixing anything. Fixing the bug would be whichever dev broke the ability for WINE to detect a disc drive going back and figuring out what they changed in the relevant code that broke WINE from 5.0 on, or maybe someone who doesn't break functions that have largely been plug and play since the late 1980's, and were working in WINE practically for the project's entire existence. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. If it was that obvious how to avoid breaking things, it wouldn't happen. Moreover, I don't think there are any commits between 4.21 and 5.0-rc3 that directly touch disk detection, so it really isn't obvious after the fact either. Regression tests make it a lot easier to find out what broke. Performing a regression test is a good way to help this bug be fixed a lot more quickly than it otherwise would be. Also, what application are you using to automatically detect drives? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Testing with current Wine (e.g. 6.0-rc1) would be nice as well. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
