[Bug 30470] New: Certain programs (rFactor, GTR 2 (and maybe VSTHost)) now running slowly
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30470 Bug #: 30470 Summary: Certain programs (rFactor, GTR 2 (and maybe VSTHost)) now running slowly Product: Wine Version: 1.5.2 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Mac OS X Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: dbmmbr(a)gmail.com Classification: Unclassified With Wine (on Mac OS X), starting with version 1.5.1, the games rFactor and GTR 2 run slowly / run with laggy jerky video (which they didn't do so with Wine versions 1.5.0 and earlier). (And, also, I think that, with Wine (on Mac OS X), starting with Wine version 1.5.1, the program VSTHost maybe runs using more CPU power? / runs less efficiently? (than it did with Wine versions 1.5.0 and earlier.)) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

With Wine (on Mac OS X), starting with version 1.5.1, the games rFactor and GTR 2 run slowly / run with laggy jerky video (which they didn't do so with Wine versions 1.5.0 and earlier).
(And, also, I think that, with Wine (on Mac OS X), starting with Wine version 1.5.1, the program VSTHost maybe runs using more CPU power? / runs less efficiently? (than it did with Wine versions 1.5.0 and earlier.))
I think that, if, in fact, VSTHost is now running more slowly, I think that that may have begun with Wine version 1.5.0 or with Wine version 1.4.0. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30470 --- Comment #3 from Daniel Bielak <dbmmbr(a)gmail.com> 2012-04-25 22:59:09 CDT --- Just to Clarify: The two issues that I listed are two separate issues. I shouldn't have listed both of them in the same bug report. I apologize. A. With Wine (on Mac OS X), starting with version 1.5.1, the games rFactor and GTR 2 run slowly / run with laggy jerky video (which they didn't do so with Wine versions 1.5.0 and earlier). B. About the program VSTHost: I now realize that the issue that I've experienced with it with Wine version 1.5.1 and with Wine version 1.5.2 has to do, most likely, with an issue with my machine (low disk space, and therefore poor performance (slow virtual memory access?)), or with an issue with another program (which, I think, may now, in the recent updated version of it, use more computer resources) which is a program that I use with VSTHost. The main, or core, reason that I think that that may be the reason why I'm now experiencing the issue with VSTHost that I reported is because I'm now experiencing the issue with VSTHost also with Wine version 1.4.2. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30470 --- Comment #4 from Austin English <austinenglish(a)gmail.com> --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 2 years. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.18 or newer) wine? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
