When I run the installed GoogleEarth either 
'wine GoogleEarth.exe'
or
'WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ole32,oleaut32,rpcrt4=n" wine GoogleEarth.exe',
get the following error:

X Error of failed request:  BadLength (poly request too large or internal Xlib
length error)
  Major opcode of failed request:  128 (GLX)
  Minor opcode of failed request:  29 ()
  Serial number of failed request:  3516
  Current serial number in output stream:  3516
