Possibly a duplicate of meta bug 29250.
In my case antialiasing does not work completely. It is not blurry, this bug appears in different apps (for example in regedit on my screenshot). I have also tried to use default Wine theme: no difference. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Using 1.5.18 on Fedora 17 64 bit, still has this issue. Works fine on a 32 bit FC17. Why doesn't font rendering work in 64 bit? I have tried all of the below steps but non of them work. 1) https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wine 2) http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=197&t=101169 3) http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/4449... -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Can you test it in winecfg, for example? I have tried changing winecfg dpi to a higher value, but that don't work. All wine fonts are devoid of any anti-aliasing. So anti-aliasing in wine is not really working on 64 bit kernels. Alexandre, Do you have any pointers on how to fix this on a 64 bit machine? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

trace:font:is_subpixel_rendering_enabled subpixel rendering is NOT enabled
Your Freetype library doesn't support subpixel antialiasing.
This is good information. I downloaded freetype 2.5.0, defined FT_CONFIG_OPTION_SUBPIXEL_RENDERING in ftoption.h and installed it. The log (attached) now shows trace:font:is_subpixel_rendering_enabled subpixel rendering is enabled But there is a last trace message that still shows "NOT enabled". http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31774 --- Comment #17 from Philby John <philbyjohn(a)yahoo.com> --- There are multiple users having the same issue. One such user posted a link on how to solve the rendering problem here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=134977 So, essentially what they did was to enable Infinality Font Rendering. After that the fonts look swell. For the record, one can follow the instructions here. http://www.infinality.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=77 -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
