[Bug 4132] cvs so slow it's unusable?

I blew away my wine directory: rm -fr wine
downloaded the tarball from ftp://ftp.winehq.org/pub/wine/
untared it: tar -xzvf wine-cvsdirs-0.9.6.tar.gz
went into the wine directory: cd wine
did an update: cvs update -PAd

the whole process took about 10 minutes.

I have this in my ~/.cvsrc

cvs -z 3
update -PAd
diff -u 
---8<---

The "cvs -z 3" helps speed things up quite a bit.
