That means you're using builtin d3dx9. You have to install native to retest the original bug. With native d3dcompiler_43.dll d3dx9_36.dll d3dx9_42.dll Milkdrop starts in windowed mode but then there's no graphics - just graphical artifacts. I need to check Windows, but I think the vis should be taking up the whole amount of space, but that would be another bug if so.
Probably my current GPU doesn't support the required features under Linux - I don't know. This bug is marked as a regression, but there's no indication of a Wine version in which it worked. Moreover, if the bug is indeed that Milkdrop 2 fails to run *with all builtin libraries* (which comment 23 suggests, though the title is confusing), and the failure is related to HLSL compilation, I don't think this would ever have worked. Can you please provide a working Wine version, or else remove the keyword?
I don't think it's ever worked. In Wine 6.19: 01dc:fixme:d3dcompiler:D3DCompile2 HLSL shader compilation is not yet implemented. With wine-11.0-rc5 and an empty prefix I can start the application and see the Milkdrop visualization.
The only problem is that it doesn't cover the whole Visualization area. Resizing the window changes the target rectangle but both its position and width/height remain incorrect.
