[Bug 27162] New: Wine developers prefer beer
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27162 Summary: Wine developers prefer beer Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: wine-bugs(a)cboltz.de Marcus Meissner told me at the openSUSE conference last october that most wine developers actually prefer beer. He also repeated this statement in the slides for today's "wine is not (only) an emulator" talk he's giving at LinuxTag together with me. It must be a bug that wine developers prefer beer! Proposed fix: for person in developers/* ; do sed -i 's/Prefer: beer/Prefer: wine/' done ;-)) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Please provide WINEDEBUG=+water,+barley,+hops,+yeast trace for review. Though I don't see a benefit fixing this bug as drinking at work seems to lead to more honest communications and reduces complaints about low pay ;-) Regards -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27162 --- Comment #11 from André H. <nerv(a)dawncrow.de> 2013-02-07 09:10:47 CST --- Bug is still present as of FOSDEM2013 we even attended at the beer event, and it was great. They had very strong beer (up to 10%) so maybe that is falsifying the result. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27162 Bruno Jesus <00cpxxx(a)gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keywords| |obfuscation, performance Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |WONTFIX --- Comment #12 from Bruno Jesus <00cpxxx(a)gmail.com> --- Due to the lack of logs requested in comment 2 and lack of testcase requested in comment 6 I have to agree to comment 1 and say it is a tough decision but this bug is a WONTFIX. Beer has been preferred in most situations related to development, more developers drink beer before testing bugs, during patch development and after patch rejection (source unknown). Sometimes patches are commited and even then more developers still drink beer. Notable exceptions were stated in comment 4 and comment 5 and comment 8. Drinking increases integration but reduces performance and can be clearly related to several accidents that can lead to well known regressions (source unknown). It is pretty clear that beer was the cause that led to comment 5. For example comment 9 talks about reverse engineering, which is clearly forbidden, the developer is well aware of that and could only have posted that under ofbuscation of beer. A whole new discussion could arise in order to understand if the problem is Wine or wine. But that should take another 6 years. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
