The transparant portion is not rendered properly. It's good enough to fool you sometimes; it's as if it samples the background once and does the transparancy properly then, but from then on acts as if it's opaque, keeping the originally computed sample of the background no matter what the real background does. Believe it or not, this really annoys some users.
