crash in msi

I'm currently stuck; after working around two bugs (nothing to do with msi) it
crashes in msi itsself. As it's a crash in msi ittself it might be easy to
solve  , so i post it here. This blocks the install and thus the testing of
this popular app. If needed i can add more debuginfo
