R. Dierick <o.dierick(a)piezo-forte.be> --- Probably duplicate of bug 38960. Battle.net use CEF internally to render web pages. There are issues with CEF in win7 mode. You may either: - Use wine-staging (includes patch that makes CEF work in win7 mode); - Add the game executable to the application tab in winecfg and set it to Win7 mode, while leaving the global setting to WinXP for battle.net and other games; - Add battle.net.exe to the application tab in winecfg and set it to WinXP mode, while leaving the global setting to Win7 for other games and applications; -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. I think you mean Wine 2.18. At least on my system Freetype 2.6.3 is installed. What makes you think this issue is related to Freetype? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Yes, I did mean wine 2.18, apologies. I have seen similar crash behaviour with freetype2 2.8, which is why I asked the question. Have you tried installing in a new wineprefix using wine-staging? 2.17 or better should work without crashing. No overrides/dlls needed, just winetricks corefonts. It might be worth checking that you have the latest Blizzard App installer too. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Still present on 2.20 no staging version
Since Wine Staging 2.20 in Staging too... :( But, with Wine Staging 2.19 it's work perfectly for me. It's a new regression, I think. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I'm using 2.20 staging and when I create a new prefix and install the Battle.net app, everything works just fine for me. No overwrites and no winetricks, just installed it with a new prefix. This patch has one dependency: the patch ntdll-FileNameInformation. With just these two patches applied on top of vanilla wine 2.20, Battle.net works fine for me. Without this patch, Battle.net crashes on startup and gives its own crash reporting window. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
