http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9449 --- Comment #3 from Yolande Haneder <yolande(a)haneder.biz> 2007-08-25 08:34:29 --- Software: SDL Trados 2007 Part of the software: Tageditor (TagEditor.exe). I opened Tag Editor, clicked on open a file and selected a .doc file. Then everything crashed. (I will leave it closed, you can decide what you want about it, I can't give you much more details). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Do you happen to have the 2006 or older version of the app also? Might be worth trying that. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9449 --- Comment #5 from Yolande Haneder <yolande(a)haneder.biz> 2007-08-25 12:19:59 --- The problem is that my license won't work with the 2006 Version. I think I had it somewhere but it won't change much because the only difference between 2006 (version 6.5) and version 2007 (8.00) is the only support for Vista. The software had not changed much. The biggest difference would be from version 7 (before SDL bought Trados and merged Trados and SDLX in one package).
From the point of view of Tag Editor tagging documents before loading them, it doesn't make a difference.
NET.1 seemed to get a bit better but I didn't have the change to experience it much with it. It seemed that .NET is not the problem, but Visual studio 2005 - incidentally I am mixing a bunch of not supported software for which a lot of people would dream of installing them on their own (I read some comments on Visual Studio .NET v. 2005 from people "able" to program in Linux and would love to solve the problem with it - maybe they could help if my installation procedure could get them further). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9449 --- Comment #6 from Yolande Haneder <yolande(a)haneder.biz> 2007-08-25 21:18:34 --- I think it may have to do with the exception because of MEM-WATCH from the virtual memory (ntdll) not being applied. I am pretty sure Trados is a product of the software Visual Studio C++ 2005 .NET since I know SDL to promote Visual Studio and mostly program with it. The very important thing to note about Visual Studio are that the changes are dynamic so first in a kind of cache or virtual memory. Trados is loading and tagging the document but if from that point I start to work on it and something crash (closing without saving), all work is gone, it is saved nowhere. How it is done - it is better asking the users of Visual Studio. It is probably like the address of the document is entered in MEM_WATCH, changes are made and cached and only saved when I save - which also explain trados saying "not enough memory" when one is not saving for too long. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9449 --- Comment #7 from Yolande Haneder <yolande(a)haneder.biz> 2007-08-29 23:52:54 --- Be careful about the link, you added the link to the "freelance" (limited) version. It may be good for a start, but if we ever get over the memory problem, the version I am using has more components. On the freelance you have mainly: Trados Workbench Trados Tag Editor Trados Multiterm SDLX On the professional you have: Trados Workbench Trados TagEditor Trados Winalign Trados converting tools for various documents SDL Trados Synergy Trados Multiterm SDL PerfectMatch I will however concentrate in my tests on Workbench + Tageditor because Workbench + word is expected to disappear in the next versions and TagEditor can process document in the 2006 as well as in the 2007 Version. Workbench + TagEditor cover at least 90% of the work of a translator using trados. SDLX is a separate tool, covering the same as Trados but less popular. The software is written in Java, so once we get over the basics (.NET + Visual Basics), the other parts will come on their own. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
