[Bug 32586] New: Guild Wars 2: Installation window is hidden
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32586 Bug #: 32586 Summary: Guild Wars 2: Installation window is hidden Product: Wine Version: 1.5.19 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: sworddragon2(a)aol.com Classification: Unclassified After reinstalling my system I wanted to install Guild Wars 2 too. The installer downloaded the initial files (~10 MB) and after this it switched to the window where I can install the game but it was visible for less than a second. The window was still available in my taskbar but I couldn't maximize it anymore. A workaround to still install the game is to click the installation button in the few milliseconds the installation window is visible. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

But I can confirm this is happening to me as well with Ubuntu and ArchLinux. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32586 sworddragon2(a)aol.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keywords| |regression Version|1.5.19 |1.5.15 --- Comment #2 from sworddragon2(a)aol.com --- I could isolate the problem between version 1.5.14 and 1.5.15. In version 1.5.15 there was also a bug fixed related to the launcher: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15118 But I'm currently unable to compile old versions so I can't test now if reverting the commit fixes the problem. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. If so some debug could help. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I tried running the gw.exe file with the latest version of wine, the computer froze and the power supply fan was working overtime. Then i did my homework, installed PlayOnLinux, tried again with my downloader, with a fresh install. Same. I ended up noticing there's a panel up that i can't see with random mouseovers while the computer is unresponsive. Mouse still moves around but nothing else works, alt F4, ctrl-alt-del, alt-tab... Nothing short of holding the power button. I could try to get you this "debug" thing if i can get instructions for it. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. So is this still a problem with recent wine? If so some debug could help.
The Guild Wars 2 launcher was updated so that this issue doesn't appear anymore with Wine 1.5.15 (and also not with Wine 1.7.28). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32586 --- Comment #6 from triangle400(a)gmail.com --- I would like to say that even though "the launcher was patched and this issue is gone" Trying to install the game crashes my computer, everytime. I tried to pipe the terminal output to file but the data isn't logged because i have to force close the computer. Now i don mind if this is something you can't be bothered to fix, just don't go telling me it's working fine. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32586 --- Comment #7 from sworddragon2(a)aol.com --- Your crashing issue sounds like a complete different one and you should maybe create a new ticket if there isn't already one. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Your crashing issue sounds like a complete different one and you should maybe create a new ticket if there isn't already one.
If your entire computer locks up, it's a kernel/driver bug (usually video drivers), not a wine bug. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
