https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37395 --- Comment #5 from wine(a)zootal.com <wine(a)zootal.com> --- I am please to report that as of wine-1.9.1, sound now works. Procedure: Create a new wine prefix. Do as suggested below and use winetricks: winetricks -q directmusic dsound When you do, you will see directmusic getting installed, but dsound appears to be part of directmusic because the console will show: dsound already installed, skipping Ignore it. Now start the game. When you select to start the game from the launcher, the launcher will crash, but this is inconsequential because it would close at this point anyhow. and SOUND WORKS! Does anyone out there have an Asherons Call II account that can test this? If so, then this bug report can probably be closed. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37395 --- Comment #6 from wine(a)zootal.com <wine(a)zootal.com> --- I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to mention this, but... Sound does indeed work, but it seems that the number of simultaneous sounds is limited. If for example background music is playing, you are running, and you hit a monster, you hear the music, your foot steps, your sword swing, the sound of the monster being hit, and your character going "oofff". The sounds become choppy and switch from one to another, as if it can't play all of them at the same time. There is an in game setting for the number of concurrent sounds, but this does not seem to change anything. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
