[Bug 17440] New: Fog bug introduced between 1.1.11 and 1.1.13
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17440 Summary: Fog bug introduced between 1.1.11 and 1.1.13 Product: Wine Version: 1.1.13 Platform: PC URL: http://cdn.funcom.com/ao/client/AnarchyOnline_17.9.1- Small.exe OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: letsclimbhigher(a)gmail.com When I upgraded from 1.1.11 to 1.1.13 the fog in-game is messed up. Outside it is a medium fog and if you go inside somewhere it is a nearly total fog. If you go into the in-game settings menu and adjust the fog slider you will see it affected but it is still unplayable indoors in this condition. Going back to the previous wine version works. I also today installed wine 1.11.15 and the same bug is present still. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17440 chris <letsclimbhigher(a)gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|CLOSED |UNCONFIRMED Resolution|FIXED | --- Comment #5 from chris <letsclimbhigher(a)gmail.com> 2010-04-28 05:39:23 --- This bug has not been fixed as of 1.1.43. It was referring to what happens when you move change the rendering view distance set by the slider in game. It _should_ just change the rendering distance of objects seen, but as of 1.1.11 or 1.1.12 it started also doing something else: Outdoors it deepens a blue color that saturates the whole screen the shorter you set the rendering distance. Indoors it looks more like extremely dense smoke that obscures everything except the glow from nano effects (such as those on people). Here are some screencaps of what I mean. This first one is with 100% view distance. Notice the air is clear. http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/72/hundredpercent.png This one is at view distance set at forty percent. At around ten percent all you see is blue. http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/2240/fourtypercent.png And here is an image indoors. It is always like this indoors no matter the setting. Although when you move the slider it goes to a clear image but as soon as the slider stops the smoke is back. http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/5597/indoorsr.png Let me know if I need to make a new ticket for this to get the issue re-opened. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I getting consistent results with 1.1.10 (reported as good) and wine-1.1.43-387-gce3c1df when view distance is set to 0%. Look at the attachement, but it think, there is no difference. White is white and not getting blue. A slight difference is between 0% and 100%. When 0% than the screen gets bit darker, but again, that is the _same_ during different wine version: * 1.0.1, 1.1.10, 1.1.43 nvidia GT8600 v195.36.24 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Near objects appear more fogged than far objects. With viewing distance at maximum it isn't playable, because you can't see near objects. By setting the lowest possible viewing distance you can't see anything that's about 10 meters away. So this game is unplayable atm. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
