I removed ~/.wine and ran the installer; it
failed quickly.  I'll attach a +msi,+ole,+text,+dialog log;
the first obvious problem is the line

trace:msi:MSI_ProcessMessage ((nil) 0 10 L"MsiServerStartup failed. Abort
installation.")
