I have installed winetricks, and done the OPEN-GL fix. Sketchup loaded under Wine, but when running the program, while the toolbars and menus all display correctly, the work area remains blank (black). The cursor displays in the work area, but when you draw with it, there aren't any lines. I assumed this was a problem which required the use of a new graphics card until last week when, after downloading lots of updates, Sketchup began to work the correct way, the display was white with the axis lines showing. I decided I wanted a different template, so I changed it and re-started Sketchup. I have a slightly different problem (intermittent blanking of the work area, re-appears during scene rotate), however I unintentionally recreated the described bug by setting the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\X11 Driver\ClientSideWithRender" registry key to "N". I'm running: Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) winetricks 20120912 Wine 1.5.14 Sketchup 8.0.15158 Video: Intel Sandybridge Mobile (GT2+) I'll try to add this somewhere more appropriate but I managed to fix my intermittent blanking problems by setting the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\X11 Driver\ClientSideGraphics" key to "N".
