When I launched quark with wine on ubuntu version 5.10 I get the following
message : 

err:seh:setup_exception stack overflow 60 bytes in thread 0009 eip b7df0d4f esp
7f9c0fc4 stack 0x7f9c1000-0x7fad0000

I have reinstalled the previuos version of wine 0.9.7 and everything works well.
