Is this still an issue with a recent Wine version (1.3.35 or newer)?
I can't seem to reproduce the problem here. Nvidia gfx card with the proprietary driver 290.10, Wine-1.3.35. NWN 2 Platinum v1.23.1765
The game runs if you use 'dxdiagn', 'devenum' and 'd3dx9_36' overrides.
