Wine 1.5.24.
Steam CS 1.6 (Feb 25 update)

A couple of weeks ago I started noticing that the MOTD is actually being
rendered. I guess the new Gecko engine in Wine 1.5.22 fixed this.

This bug is now fixed for me.
