My guess would be this is coming from the .Net installer. Could you try on a clean~/.wine : 1. First do 'winetricks dotnet11' 2. So I installed net20 as well and the installation procedure has gone forward! It's actually near the end of installation, during registering VBA product information, where WINE suddenly fails. I'll attach the log in a moment. It looks like that on your first log, you used winxp as setting and in the second win2000. These lines: fixme:shell:URL_ParseUrl failed to parse... in mass are especially when you use the howto of a manual .NET installation (which had been originally for win2000) without changing the default configuration of Wine which is now for XP. This time the debugger does not come into play. Any ideas what can I try overriding with native elements to complete the installation? You have a problem I have never seen, although I can say I tried to install the .NET under XP using many combinations in the last 9 months now. You have a problem with x11drv_main.c, is it new from the GIT, is it typical for your application? I mean macros that are no processed directly from word macro's bar but using word are OK. Word itself is refusing to load them and the very same function is only working when prompted from outside Word. for VBA I needed vbscript.dll, which is provided by windows script and requires mfc42.dll. Registering the .NET VB classes is still a problem however not hurting me too much because on the second go, the installshield is skipping this part. One thing that helped me in the past was to replace the WinSXS of Wine (XP) with the same from (XP) windows with the software installed. Start with clean ~/.wine 2. Do 'wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks && sh winetricks msxml3 dotnet20' (Though Autocad2006 claims it needs .net 1.1, you get a crash updating a hotfix in the installer; so don't install .net 1.1, but do .net 2.0, that is enough to make the installer happy) 3. Start the installer, and choos custom install, and deselect "VBA" otherwise the installer will crash later on. Could you try if this works for you too?
