Instead of showing the correct tray icon an existing icon from a non-Windows utility is duplicated. Sometimes this duplicate dissapears and there is just a blank space in the notification area. The tray icon does not respond to mouse clicks or other events so pop-up menus connected to the icon are not accessible. I've tested this with several different Windows applications and they all exhibit the same behaviour. I've also tested this with all Wine versions back to 0.9.52 and all have the same problem. Please, check the 'taskmgr' utility which ships with wine (just use "wine taskmgr" to invoke it). Out of curiosity I tried running some Windows apps and now tray icons work! They are displayed properly and any pop-up menu appears as expected. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11592 --- Comment #7 from Fredrik Öhrn <ohrn+wine(a)opera.com> 2008-02-29 04:23:42 --- OK, upgrading packages didn't break anything but I just figured out what does: Installing nVidias binary display driver, enabling TwinView *and* setting TwinViewOrientaion to LeftOf breaks the tray icons. With TwinView turned off or TwinViewOrientaion set to default (RightOf) tray icons work normally. Apparently having the secondary monitor to the left confuses the tray icon adaptor.
