[Bug 42539] New: Exact Audio Copy seems to detect drive but claims ' no audio CD in drive'
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42539 Bug ID: 42539 Summary: Exact Audio Copy seems to detect drive but claims 'no audio CD in drive' Product: Wine Version: 2.2 Hardware: x86-64 URL: http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/ OS: Mac OS X Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: scott(a)doemail.org Created attachment 57439 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=57439 CLI output EAC's seems to know about my disc drive in some fashion because it shows it shows an item in a checkmark list in the configuration wizard, but its name is empty. On top of that, EAC thinks there is no audio CD in the drive when there is. winecfg correctly detects and shows the drive + the audio CD however. The drive I am using: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AO1XFM0 Repro steps: 1) Install EAC 2) Launch EAC and start the configuration wizard a. If this not your first time launching EAC, launch the wizard through EAC->Configuration Wizard... 3) Press Next 4) Note the checkmarked item with a blank name 5) Press Next 6) Press Next 7) Press Next Expected: 8) EAC auto detects the drive features Actual: 8) EAC displays a dialog saying "EAC couldn't find a CD in the drive to be tested." https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42539 --- Comment #4 from Scott <scott(a)doemail.org> --- * It's a blocker for using EAC. Is the "importance" not for apps, but at a higher level for Wine itself? * Why did you mark this as a duplicate? My drive is detected by Wine and partially by EAC, but the drive is not detected by either in bug 12359. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. * It's a blocker for using EAC. Is the "importance" not for apps, but at a higher level for Wine itself? Please read the severity definitions. https://bugs.winehq.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html
* Why did you mark this as a duplicate? My drive is detected by Wine and partially by EAC, but the drive is not detected by either in bug 12359. I agree the summary of that bug was rather misleading, so I've corrected it based on the bug description, which makes it clear that the problem is that audio cds aren't detected by EAC even though the drive is detected in winecfg.
FYI, there's a workaround for EAC described in https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12363#c2. (I don't know if it still works.) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

FYI, there's a workaround for EAC described in https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12363#c2. (I don't know if it still works.) The workaround does not work [on mac os|with my drive]. See the screenshot I just attached for the result. The app dies immediately after pressing OK.
