You need to symlink /home/<user>/.wine/dosdevices/<drive-letter>:: ->
/path/to/<image>.iso in order to get the installer working.

And I did test C&C on 1.1.9. Some noticable frame dropping detected with the
cutscenes and the GDI/NOD selection menu is somewhat slow on 1,7GHz AMD Athlon
XP with Radeon 9600 Pro (R3xx w/ open source drivers). The game itself runs
fast.

I believe the issue is still there, just not so bad on my hardware and there
probably have been much improvements with the rendering code. I'd keep this
open for now.
