Complete terminal output with WINEDEBUG=+dwrite

Launch Dr.Explain > click the Activate Dr.Explain button. The activation dialog
opens, and the edit control (which is initially empty) receives focus, and the
program crashes.

I suspect the issue is in the function
dwrite:dwritetextlayout_HitTestTextPosition.
