[Bug 46488] New: Diablo 2 LoD: Direct3D regression: Unhandled exception: Access_violation (c0000005)
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46488 Bug ID: 46488 Summary: Diablo 2 LoD: Direct3D regression: Unhandled exception: Access_violation (c0000005) Product: Wine Version: 3.18 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: idarktemplar(a)mail.ru Distribution: --- Regression in D2 LoD v1.13. After some wine upgrades I've tried running D2 LoD and received "Access_violation (c0000005)" error. I've checked few different wine versions and got following results: wine-vanilla-3.0.3 - ok wine-vanilla-3.18 - Unhandled exception: Access_violation (c0000005) wine-vanilla-3.21 - Unhandled exception: Access_violation (c0000005) I've tried using clear wine prefix and error was gone. But after that I ran D2VidTst.exe, chose "Direct3D" instead of "DirectDraw (2D)" there, and issue reappeared. I ran git bisect and got following result: 8fa5f1d8c6e2c0e0bb408de0b341b946984825c1 is the first bad commit commit 8fa5f1d8c6e2c0e0bb408de0b341b946984825c1 Author: Henri Verbeet <hverbeet(a)codeweavers.com> Date: Mon Oct 8 21:55:37 2018 +0330 wined3d: Also default to OpenGL core contexts on NVIDIA GPUs. Could you try with wine 4.0-rc7?
Issue doesn't reproduce with wine 4.0-rc7. I'm able to run D2 LoD using "DirectDraw (2D)" and using "Direct3D" without hitting this issue. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Alright, marking FIXED then, thanks for testing. This is definitely a duplicate, but don't know exactly of which bug, so maybe someone with more knowledge could mark it a dupe of the right bug. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
