[Bug 59227] New: Program under LMDE6 and wine run but not anymore under LMDE7 and wine
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59227 Bug ID: 59227 Summary: Program under LMDE6 and wine run but not anymore under LMDE7 and wine Product: Wine Version: 10.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: halloalle14@gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 80132 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=80132 terminal output after final trial I installed WINE also new (version 10), first automatic then uninstall and manually following https://wiki.winehq.org. But the wine-installer ignores the file.exe and does nothing. At winehq I can only choose trixie but not gigi. Is this the reason that wine refuses to run? In the start menu there is a point "wine" but that does not help and there was also no entry in the list to choose a WIN-version for compatibility any more like under LMDE6. Then I installed "Playonlinux" and let them install an old wine 6.16-amd64 this was the newest on the list. But it didnt install WINE. I need Wine to run LTspice and other exe and there is no dual boot anymore. +++ As all original instructions failed I used the commands from https://praxistipps.chip.de/linux-wine- ... hten_93669. Installation now works and winecfg run too!!!!??? Installation of the program.exe was done but with an error I cant understand. The program itself then started but run in an error "write of address 00000000" and then freezes. win version choosen was win7 +++ The simple program mmgal basic is stable and run with no problems until LMDE6 https://hamsoft.ca/pages/mmana-gal.php +++ see attachment -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. It appears that wine itself is working, but possibly the program suffered a regression. Does 'wine notepad' work? If it is a regression (e.g., worked in 9.0, broke in 10.0), please run a regression test: https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/wikis/Regression-Testing -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59227 --- Comment #3 from Bert <halloalle14@gmail.com> --- 1. 'wine notepad' worked (opened a window) see list of terminaloutput 2. Dont know version of wine under LMDE6. Was once installed by "playonlinux" after LMDE6 was new installed after release. But dont know what "playonlinux" used as newest version at this time. 3. I am not experienced with SW development and terminal ops. What is the easiest way to check older versions? I will playonlinux give an other chance and install it again, may be this is the easiest way to test older versions? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59227 --- Comment #4 from Bert <halloalle14@gmail.com> --- I tried to install the latest stable at release of LMDE6 see below following the rules of WINEhq website. But it was not possible. wine10 is resident.
