I'm completely new to using wine. After I updated my Mac to OS X, and after steam's update, it hasn't worked properly. So I tried using Wine with an accompanying youtube video. I now have a windows 7 version of steam, but I cannot do much. I can't even search for games with out the message telling me I have a "program error" coming up. If you could help me it'd be great. Novice users are tempted to subscribe/comment on these bugs because they don't bother to read details/comments and just see: "it doesn't work", "my program crashes", "wine crashes". Additionally we end up with many bugs having exactly the same nonsense summary/title displayed in search/query form. This makes 'simple search' form using summary/title pretty useless.
