I checked it and it said that there was a copied file in which was in the folder and it could not update due to this file. I deleted the entire folder, reinstalled, and instead of installing the patch manually I had to click on one of the renegade.exe files in order to start the patch before the game would start. IF you start the game it will tell you to download a file; it wouldn't work for me so don't do that.
