The game starts fine, the menu works and I can start a new game. An introductory screen is shown, then a loading screen is displayed and the crash occurs before the actual level loaded. Tried in virtual desktop mode and in fullscreen, too. The game worked without the issue in Wine-1.1.43. The result of the regression test (with 3 'skipped' steps at the end): There are only 'skip'ped commits left to test. Why did you skip those commits?
The game crashed right after startup with those commits (with another 'X Error of failed request:...' error) so I couldn't get into the game at all.
Does it have a demo and does it experience the same crash? Currently there's no demo available for the PC version.

From time to time it loads level but mostly it crashes with same errors.

Does it have a demo and does it experience the same crash?
