It just doesn't list wine for some reason when I try to do that in my file
manager.
Could it be because wine has no .desktop file?

Hello,

This kind of system integration depends on the Desktop Environment and should
be handled by the package used to install Wine.

So what is your Operating System, Desktop Environment, Origin and type of
package?

I use arch kde and the wine package from the official arch repos.
