Sound works for me in-game now with:
a) Windows version = XP
b) dsound = native
c) driver = either ALSA or OSS (using ALSA might have caused stuttering during the cut scenes though)
I didn't need to do "winetricks dsoundbug9612". I'm running Ubuntu 10.10.
not working solution for me. Tested on Gentoo amd64, wine 1.3.21 tried two systems with same config- no result, moreover if i set dsound=native, game not starts at all. Also tried install DirectX and vcrun included in game. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Well I don't but I started to study this. Could someone update the status? Would think this was popular game. The original bug report has been made with wine 1.3.7. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25173 --- Comment #20 from Rafael Augusto <patoplc(a)live.com> --- Sorry for the delay in replying. Unfortunately, I no longer have my hardware from 2018-19, so there could be discrepancies in future reports. I tried to run Black Ops on Wine 6.0-rc2 and 6.0-rc1-staging in Fedora 33, but the game refuses to start, so there is no way to test the sound. It seems problems starting Black Ops are also reported in ProtonDB (https://www.protondb.com/app/42700), so there may have been a regression since my March 2019 message. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
