   I tried it but got no output in the file:

mark(a)lightning ~/SAVITEST $ WINEDEBUG=wave,dscapure,mixer wine Crystal.exe 2>&1
| tee Crystal.out
mark(a)lightning ~/SAVITEST $ cat Crystal.out
mark(a)lightning ~/SAVITEST $

   Possibly Wine needs to be compiled with debug features? 

lightning ~ # emerge -pv wine

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
