Does winetricks dotnet40 or dotnet45 help?
When I try to install dotnet40 from winetricks in my wineprefix, it tells me that it doesn't run in 64-bit wineprefixes. The installation of dotnet45 fails completely. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

In a 32-bit wineprefix it installs/runs flawlessly with dotnet40 and ie8. (I tried with Playonlinux) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

While experimenting around I just noticed that without specifying the port 80 as XenServer connection port it fails to connect. I also tried installing dotnet45 in a 32-bit wineprefix; it also fails. When the dotnet45-installation was aborted because it failed, xencenter doesn't start anymore and it complains about missing dotnet40. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You'll want to use dotnet40 (in a 32-bit prefix) as a workaround. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40338 --- Comment #8 from Vincent Povirk <madewokherd(a)gmail.com> --- The stub was added to Wine Mono 4.6.2. Please update Wine Mono and retest. You can do this by either: * Building Wine from Git (see https://wiki.winehq.org/Git_Wine_Tutorial) * Testing with Wine 1.9.8 when it's released * Downloading the MSI installer from https://dl.winehq.org/wine/wine-mono/4.6.2/wine-mono-4.6.2.msi and installing it in Wine 1.9.7 by running "wine64 msiexec /i wine-mono-4.6.2.msi" -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. It needs to be installed like this winetricks -q dotnet45. You end up with broken dotnet install otherwise. And it's no wonder why it doesnt work. What's the situation now? Using POL builds for testing = we can't really solve this bug as fixed. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Can't really retest as there's no download and there hasn't been a response for over 5 years. Resolving ABANDONED. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
