[Bug 26017] New: 3D Pinball - Space Cadet: fullscreen does not work properly
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26017 Summary: 3D Pinball - Space Cadet: fullscreen does not work properly Product: Wine Version: 1.3.13 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: turbolad995(a)hotmail.co.uk 3D Pinball - Space Cadet If you can copy the file from Windows XP in C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Pinball (or if you dual-boot Windows XP with Linux and access the file) and run the pinball.exe in Wine. Fullscreen mode does not work properly. The title bar of the window still shows when you press <F4> to go into fullscreen. Also, the top and bottom GNOME panels in Ubuntu are still showing. The game is supposed to be in fullscreen completely. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I have posted 2 screenshots and tried the "patch" suggested earlier (I finally worked out you needed to type winetricks vcrun2005 in a Terminal), but after doing that, closing the pinball game and trying the fullscreen several times, it does not work. You can easily toggle between fullscreen and windowed mode with the <F4> key and see what happens. For new readers: this is a Windows game located in Windows XP on C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Pinball\pinball.exe I'm not sure where it's located on Windows Vista and later - or if it still exists on later versions of Windows. I only have my dual-boot Windows XP and Ubuntu to test this out, as I can directly access the Windows files and directories. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Unity is not the culprit. When you press the F4 key, the game goes into a 'split' fullscreen and the mouse pointer shows. Moving the mouse pointer to the left, in fullscreen, allows you to play this game in fullscreen. The mouse pointer should not be showing in fullscreen and you should not have to move it over to the left. It's almost working properly. I still have this problem in Wine 1.6.2 (stable) and 1.7.29 (development). I run the game and it works fine in windowed mode, but when I press F4 (to go fullscreen) the screen momentarily turns black, but the the desktop reappears.
I'm running Debian 8.2 (jessie) with the MATE 1.8.1 desktop. My computer is a Dell Latitude 2120 laptop
flexico(a)littlelaptop:~$ lspci | grep VGA 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Atom Processor D4xx/D5xx/N4xx/N5xx Integrated Graphics Controller
Could you upgrade your wine 1.8 or 1.9 series or wine-staging 1.9 series and test this bug? Its confirmed once working. Would be nice if we could mark this fixed.
I'm now using Mint 18 64-bit with MATE 1.14.1, with the same problem. I've tried Wine 1.8 and it does the same thing. When I try to use 1.9 with "wine-development" I get the "version mismatch" error and I can't seem to fix that (I'll get back with you if/when I do). Maybe it's just my computer's lack of a GPU that's causing the problem. I'll have to try it on another one somehow. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
