Wine displays error message saying: "The program Diablo.exe [or Hellfire.exe, or TH.exe - comment mine] has encountered serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.". I attach crash logs from the console for Diablo and The Hell mod. I have not used proposed tweaks for directdraw, because as far as I understand they are for black screen instead of main menu (and I cannot reach this point). I use "sh winetricks corefonts" to work around the bug. Actually it suffices only to copy "Arial*.TTF" file group *OR* "Times*.TTF" group of fonts to "$WINDIR"/Fonts . I got a bit further by installing "corefonts" using "winetricks". I can get into the game and play. Still the logo doesn't display correctly.
